MosBuild 2019 – a hub of exciting industry events

This year’s MosBuild will once again be packed with unmissable events full of inspiration and key market insights.

Already the largest event of its kind in Russia, this year MosBuild’s 25th anniversary edition will take place in a new venue: Crocus Expo. The largest exhibition centre in Eastern Europe, Crocus Expo offers more exhibition space as well as space to integrate the event’s much-anticipated business programme agenda.

So, what’s on the cards for MosBuild 2019?

This year’s programme will offer 30 events featuring over 200 high-profile speakers.

Key events that proved their popularity last year will return including the DIY Forum, design battles, the Know How Café, discussions, workshops, competitions for young architects and designers, and much more, as well as brand new events for this year.

Here’s just some of the events to look forward to.

Architectural Forum

One event being held for the first time this year is the Architectural Forum where authoritative bodies, developers and architects will discuss architectural trends and what formats of modern housing will be in demand over the next few years. The forum will end with case studies as part of a joint project with arch: speech.

Perfect Home

A key feature of the Trend Show, the brand new Perfect Home project will bring a fully-built 400 sqm house onsite at MosBuild curated by Alexey Dorozhkin, Editor-in-Chief of ELLE Decoration magazine. The house will be designed by architect Boris Uborevich-Borovsky, while the interior will be the work of 10 leading Russian designers using materials and products from exhibiting companies.

Virtual Reality Space by Diana Balashova

Also part of the Trend Show, interior designer and MosBuild ambassador Diana Balashova will be curating the Virtual Reality Space using materials on from exhibitors.

She says of the project: “It’ll offer a futuristic virtual 3D interior model where visitors can put on a VR-helmet to find themselves inside a virtual reality space and can walk through the rooms and explore the details. The visitors can become my co-designers: the technology allows them to change the materials themselves from a wide choice of materials presented at the exhibition.”

One major part of the Innovation in Construction Area will be the presentation of the first stage of SPACE 2.0, a large-scale project by industrial designer Vladimir Pirozhkov. On 3 April, Mr Pirozhkov will talk about future space: what innovative materials and technologies will be on trend in the near future and the major SPACE 2.0 project which will be unveiled at MosBuild in 2020.

As a key event for the building and interiors industry, MosBuild is well placed to host prestigious industry awards and professional competitions. Among those at this year’s event will be the ArchiDigitalArts digital architectural graphics competition, the Kitchen Biennale, SMART: Modern Materials, Architecture & Technology, the 200 Best in Russia interior design competition, the WorldBuild Awards for innovative product design, and the WinAwards for window innovation.

MosBuild’s business programme would not be what it is without its line-up of exciting guests and speakers. The show attracts well-known architects, designers, representatives of various building and interiors sectors, and other notable industry figures. This year, visitors to the show will be able to hear from Dutch architect Marcel Wanders, Leroy Merlin’s marketing director Philippe Mougeot, OBI CEO Sergio Giroldi, as well as a whole host of other prominent individuals.
