Conference: 'Low-Rise Russia: A New Quality of Life'
The conference ‘Low-Rise Russia: A New Quality of Life’ took place on 10 April 2012 at MosBuild and was co-organised by the National Agency for Low-Rise and Cottage Construction (NAMIKS).
NAMIKS Deputy President Valery Kazeykin noted that the organisation has accumulated sufficient experience in helping stimulate the growth of the low-rise residential construction market, preparing land plots for development, creating the necessary infrastructure, using public-private funding schemes and developing rental housing.
“The development of low-rise construction is one of the strategic goals and key performance indicators of the foundation’s activities,” the deputy director of the Russian Housing Development Foundation, Svetlana Kuznetsova, told the conference. Ms Kuznetsova also noted that the houses built on the foundation’s land plots would use energy saving technology with intelligent house elements and innovative energy counting systems.
One of the main problems facing the market, according to Valery Mishchenko, a member of the NAMIKS General Council, is the customer’s attitude to modern technology, with many preferring brick houses. Mr Mishchenko suggested that NAMIKS and building materials manufacturers should educate the market about other options.
