Who are MosBuild’s visitors?

As the meeting place for Russia’s enormous build and interiors industry, MosBuild is attended by a strong professional audience from across Russia and the CIS. In 2018, the show attracted over 65,000 trade visitors throughout the four days.

65,000 is an impressive figure, but it doesn’t tell us much about who these visitors really are and what they want from the show and its exhibitors.

We took a closer look to discover exactly who visits MosBuild and why.

Who are MosBuild’s visitors?

They’re Russia’s biggest buyers – all huge names on the market and all attending to find new and exciting products and materials from around the globe, and, of course, meet their manufacturers.
MosBuild visitors are primarily wholesalers/distributors, retail buyers, building and renovation organisations, interior designers, and architecture and design studios. The majority – 62% – of visitors come from the Moscow region, while 32% travel from 83 regions of Russia and 6% from many other countries.

The calibre of MosBuild’s visitors is extremely high, with 82% responsible for making purchasing decisions and 15% having influence on purchasing decisions.

What are MosBuild visitors looking for?

A trade show of the scale as MosBuild is the best opportunity to discover the latest developments and products, and many visitors use the show to source materials for the year ahead. In fact, 90% of all visitors attend to source products, services, and general information.
With such a huge number of targeted buyers all in one place, a vast amount of business is done at MosBuild. In 2018, 69% of visitors intended to make a purchase as a result of visiting the show. We spoke to a few visitors at MosBuild 2018 to find out why they come to the show year after year.
“My goal is to meet partners and discover innovative products,” says Roman Efanov, Sales Director of Vekplast. “I’m primarily interested in bathroom equipment. I scheduled several meetings here easily. The exhibition is very convenient, but you need more than one or two days to go round all the pavilions. That’s why I always prepare in advance.”

“I come here specifically to sign business deals”

Andrey Ibakhtin, Director of bathroom services provider ProService 163, told us: “I come here specifically to sign business deals. The exhibition is very convenient as everyone gathers in one single place. You can collect information online in advance on the people and companies you need to meet: where they’ll be exhibiting and what they’ll bring along. I always have high expectations for the exhibition and I’m convinced I’ll find all the solutions I’m looking for.”
Elena Kuznetsova of Moscow-based GLS Light said: “I come to MosBuild to discover new products available on the market and consult my client on market conditions and supply routes. I’ve arranged several business negotiations, which I think will prove beneficial for me and my client. I also attend to talk to corporate executives and network among my peers. While the very senior managers and decision-makers don't come to every trade exhibition, they always come to MosBuild. I also use the opportunity to meet long-standing partners.”
